I love candles all year but I become obsessed with them in the winter and at Christmas! There is something about Christmas scents that I love more than any other type of fragrance, it's is probably because I love Christmas so much! These five scents are my favourites at the moment and I need to get back ups immediately.
The scent I have to have at least one of every single Christmas is Yankee Candle Christmas Eve, this is my Christmas Eve scent and myself and my Mum burn a couple of these throughout the day and it brings back so many memories. I always go for the Wax Melts as they are much more affordable and have a great scent throw. Christmas Eve has scent notes top notes of Orange, Almond Lime and Lemon, mid notes of Red Berry, Cinnamon and Nutmeg with base notes of Violet, Amber, Creamy Praline and Vanilla. I am not usually a fan of nutmeg and cinnamon scent notes in candles or fragrances but it works so well with all of the other notes.
Another Yankee Candle favourite is a new one from this year which is the Santa's Treat from the Home Inspiration line which is available at ASDA and Tesco. This smells like delicious cupcakes and cookies, if you love foodie scents you will love this. These scent melt packs are just £3, I think this is a great price post for six individual melts. This is a very sweet scent but I don't find it to be sickly in the slightest. A new scent I have fallen in love with is the Bath and Body Works Twisted Peppermint which I have in so many different products like the Medium Candle and the Wax Melt. If you do want to get your hands on this scent but don't want to ship it from America, the Flamingo Candle BAH! Humbug is a very close dupe. This smells like candy canes with the peppermint and vanilla notes with a slight coolness to it. This I am now well stocked up on as it has become one of my all time favourite scents. Yankee Candle also has a similar one called Candy Cane Forest from the Home Inspiration line.
The last two are from Bath and Body Works too, Winter and Fresh Balsam, I picked up both of these mainly because of how much Nicole from Young Wild and Polished loves these and I am now too obsessed. Winter is unlike any other scent I have and I didn't think I would like it when I read the scent notes but there is just something about it, I can see myself using this all through January and February. This has notes of White Woods, Pine Needles, Sparkling Clementine and Spiced Clove. I have already gone through my first wax melt pack and onto my second! And finally, we have the star of the show, Fresh Balsam which I have done nothing but burn for the past couple of weeks, I originally got this in one of the mini candles which I have already finished. I was so impressed that the mini candle actually filled large spaces with fragrance so I then picked up one of the three wicks as well as a Wax Melt. This candle has scent notes of Woodland Balsam, Crisp Eucalyptus, Fir Branches and Cedarwood. This smells like the best Christmas Tree you have ever smelt with a freshness to it.
What are your favourite Christmas candles?
