August Beauty Favourites

I am quite happy to see the end of August if I am honest, even if it does mean I am going back to work in a couple of days, as it means it's almost Autumn! I love the cooler weather and I can't wait for all the cosy candles and for it to be getting darker earlier. These have been my absolute favourite products this month and most of them are new things I got in the last month or so!

While I was on holiday, I didn't really want to wear too much makeup but my skin had been quite bad after flying and the huge change in weather so I wanted something that could give me a little more confidence. The IT Cosmetics CC+ Cream has been the only base product I have used this month as it does such a great job at covering anything and everything, I find I get much better coverage when I apply it with a brush rather than a sponge and I love that it has such a high SPF in it. This feels more like a moisturiser on the skin than foundation and is very long-lasting on the skin, even in 40-degree heat!

While I was on holiday, I had to go to Sephora (you can check out my haul here) and I picked up the Too Faced Love Lights Highlighter in Blinded by the LightI have been wearing it so much since I got my hands on it! It looks so smooth on the skin and doesn't draw any attention to my texture issues or pores. It isn't the most intense highlighter on the first swatch but it is very easy to build up the pigmentation. It's fairly long-lasting on the skin and this shade is perfect for fair/lighter skin tones. The packaging is adorable and reminds me of a Polly Pocket! I have a review of these with swatches - HERE.

I have been obsessed with the Tarte Quench Lip Rescues, I have three shades and they are a must have for me, I can definitely see myself repurchasing these! These are sheer tinted lip balms that feel like water on the lips while being so hydrating. I love the Berry shade the most and it never leaves my handbag. All three of the shades I have, have decent pigmentation and you can easily build the colour up. They aren't super long-lasting on the lips but I just love the way that they feel once applied. The packaging is absolutely gorgeous too, I just can't get enough. I have reviewed all three shades I have with swatches - HERE.

I have never really used an eyeshadow primer as I just couldn't find one that I really liked and that would actually make a difference and then I tried the Essence I Heart Colour Intensifying Eyeshadow Base. This is under £3 and a new holy grail of mine and makes such a huge difference! It creates a smooth base for shadows and it really does intensify the pigment of my eyeshadows, especially with any of my lighter shades, with both matte and metallic shades. I have also noticed it to prolong the wear of my shadows as well! I can't believe how inexpensive this stuff is.

I got a few new eyeshadow palettes in the last month or so and I have been obsessed with two of them in particular! The first one is the Urban Decay Naked Heat Palette, this is by far my favourite naked palette so far and I can't get enough of it! It is packed full of warm toned shadows which are my favourite and I know I am going to get so much use out of this palette into the Autumn months. The other palette I have been loving is The Nubian from Juvia's Place. This is another warm toned palette but it has completely different shades from the Naked Heat. Both palettes are super pigmentated and I have been using both of them for most days this month.

What were your favourites this month?
