Halloween Top Picks from Essence

Essence is quickly becoming my absolute favourite affordable brand, I have tried so many products from them over the last year or so and I have never been disappointed! This selection of products is not only perfect for Halloween but also to just add a little bit of fun to your makeup! Like with all products from Essence, they are so cheap (but not in quality) so they are also a great way to experiment.

A lot of these products are from the Metal Shock collection, I am a huge fan of the products I have tried already and I do want to pick up a few more soon! The first product is the Metal Art Lip & Eye Liner in 05 Rock Chick. This is a metallic blue liner and I really like that it is multiuse, this would be great to do some little accents around the eyes too! It comes with a super thin brush applicator which makes it so easy to apply and control where the product goes. The next product is the Vibrant Shock Lash & Brow Gel in 05 Be Fun & Lila! which is a coloured mascara. I would have never thought to use this in my brows but it does look like it would be a really fun look! I have used this on my lower lash line lashes and I love how it looks, it's the perfect pop of purple. The brush is on the smaller side so it would work well for the brows too.

I wear winged liner every single day so I was excited to try out the Super Last Eyeliner in Deep Black, this is definitely an everyday kind of product. It has an extremely black formula but the applicator is going to take some getting used to as it is very unique. It is actually a felt tip applicator that is quite long and flexible, I have only ever used felt tip pen liners! It dries down really quickly and is very long-lasting. I love Essence mascaras, Lash Princess is one of my favourites and I have been trying out the Instant Volume Boost and I really like it so far. The brush is different to what I usually use but it coats all of the lashes well without making them look at all clumpy. It adds a tonne of volume and I really like to use this on the lower lash line too. I have fallen in love with the Moonlight Cream Eyeshadow in Angel. This is absolutely stunning not only on the eyes but also as a highlighter. This is extremely buildable, in the swatch that is a couple of swipes. It's a great cream shadow that reflects pink/purple, I love this on the lid and inner corners! I need every shade.

Let's talk lips. It's no secret that I am not the biggest fan of liquid lip products but the Metal Shock Lip Paint in 06 Poison Ivy is very cool. This is a metallic green lip product that I am definitely going to wear on Halloween, it's not something I could usually get away with for work! This is very comfortable to wear and it's at all drying on the lips. If you are after a blue lip, the Metal Shock Lipstick in 06 Stargazer is your best friend! This is a slightly dark blue lip colour which is extremely comfortable to wear. This has such a gorgeous sheen to it and I love how reflective it is. The final lip product is the Sheer & Shine Prisma Glow in 17 Dark Deception. This is definitely a lip colour that I am going to wear all year round as it isn't that Halloween-ie. This is more of a tinted balm that will give the lips a wash of purple. I found this to be quite hydrating on the lips.

I have been loving painting my nails again recently with all things metallic and glittery and the Holo Rainbow Nail Polish in 04 Holo Love is one of the prettiest glitter polishes in my collection. This is a pink glitter polish that reflects holographic and you can definitely achieve an opaque glitter nail with this polish. And because it is glitter, it will be very long-lasting on the nails. The next polish gives me serious WWE Noami vibes. If you follow WWE you will know that it is always glow time with her and the Glow in the Dark Top Coat is my new obsession. This is a top coat that I would only use over lighter colours because it does have a milky finish to it but oh my goodness does this stuff work! I spend a lot of time outside sorting out my bunnies throughout the day which activates the glow in the dark element to the top coat. As soon as its dark my nails literally glow - it's the coolest thing! I will try and post a picture on my Instastories soon so you can see this in action.
