Cruelty Free Beauty

Last year after I saw something that Kat Von D had posted on Instagram, about animal testing, I said I would never personally buy any makeup that is tested on animals ever again. I have had to stop buying what were some of my favourite brands and products and find replacements. Luckily my top three brands don't test on animals or sell in China. Everyone is different when it comes to this topic and some people won't buy products from Urban Decay or Too Faced for example as their parent companies test on animals but if the actual brand doesn't test on them then I will buy their products, I hope that makes sense.

I am obsessed with base products, I can't get enough of them! My favourite primer, it's basically holy grail status now, is the Hylaminde HA Blur. This is such a fantastic pore filling primer and it works better than any other one I have used before, I'm gutted as I'm about to finish my second tube and I haven't ordered a back up yet! Another brilliant primer is the Soap & Glory The Fab Pore Serum, if you want your makeup to last all day long, you need this in your life. My favourite foundation at the moment is Too Faced Born This Way, I love how it looks on the skin and the coverage is brilliant. For concealer, it has to be Tarte Shape Tape! This is the best concealer I have ever used since I started wearing makeup, I've used the Urban Decay All Nighter Concealer is very similar so I've ordered that to try out next - fingers crossed!

For setting my makeup I like to use the Kat Von D Lock It Setting Powder under the eyes and the Soap and Glory One Heck of a Blot Powder for the rest of my face. Both of these powders are translucent and keep my makeup without shine for the duration of the day. To lock all of my makeup into place I have been obsessed with the Kat Von D Lock It Setting Spray. This is a new discovery of mine and it is one of the best setting sprays I have ever used, I don't get why this isn't talked about more! I recently reviewed it, here

When it comes to eyeshadow palettes, I am all about those warm tones. The Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette is one of my must-have products in my collection and was in my 2017 beauty favourites as I love it so much. I use this palette in one way or another every day! Another palette I really like this the Tarte Maneater Palette, Tarte shadows are some of the best as they are so easy to work with. I recently picked up one of the Marc Jacobs Twinkle Pop Eyeshadow Sticks, I didn't realise they didn't test on animals but now I want all their products! This is so incredibly pigmented and I now want all of the other shades that are available!

I wear winged liner every time I use my makeup and I switch between the Soap & Glory Supercat Liner and the Kat Von D Tattoo Liner. These are the only two I have ever actually really liked that have good formulations and are so easy to use. The one mascara I always go back to is the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara. This mascara just gets better and better the longer it is opened!

As much as I am a full coverage, heavy eye look kind of makeup obsessive, I secretly hate almost all lip products on me. I am so fussy when it comes to my lips and if it's not comfortable, it's not going on my lips. I also don't really like the way most bold colours look on me so when it comes to lip products for me, I keep it quite natural for every day. I have been loving my Glossier Generation G Lipsticks lately and popping on a quick swipe with some Balm Dotcom before heading out the door. If I want a slightly more intense lip then I have been going for the Charlotte Tilbury Lustre Lip Gloss in Unleash Me. This isn't a colour I would usually go for but I have been really liking it!

I don't have too many cheek/highlight products at the moment, I would love some recommendations, please! I am trying to finish up one of my NARS Blush Palettes which I bought when they were cruelty-free (they now sell in China, who require animal testing). But when it comes to highlight, I have 101! Love him or hate him, Jeffree Star knows highlighter. I have five of his highlighters and they are the best, intense highlighters, I have in my collection. For a slightly more natural highlight I like the Too Faced Love Lights.

I only have a couple of skincare picks at the moment, I did just place a Glossier order so I'm sure I'll have more cruelty-free skincare to talk about soon. Speaking of Glossier, I love the Milky Jelly Cleaner as my second-step cleanse in the evening. Another skincare must have of mine is The Ordinary Salicylic Acid 2%, this completely saved my skin! I have been raving about this for months now and I am still obsessed with it, it has really worked wonders for my acne.
