I’m so happy to see the end of January, mainly because my birthday is in February! This month I have been trying out so many new products and I have struck gold, finding some amazing products! All of my favourites this month are new discoveries and ones I have picked up or was gifted in the last 6 weeks.
My first two favourites this month are both from Kat Von D. I have been wanting to try more products from the brand for a while now and after receiving some gift cards for Christmas I knew I had to pick up a couple of things! The first is the Lock It Makeup Setting Spray (full review here). This is by far one of the best setting sprays I have ever used as it makes my makeup last so much longer than any other one I have tried. It has a lovely light scent and the mist is so fine you can barely feel it touch the skin.
My second favourite this month is the Metal Crush Highlighting Palette (review and swatches here). This is one incredible highlighting palette and I honestly haven’t used anything else since! It’s so intense but only from a distance and provides a stunning wet looking highlight. I thought the shades were going to be a little too intense in pigment for my skin tone but they have a sheerness to them which I love. I can’t get enough of this palette!
My next favourite this month is the Marc Jacobs Twinkle Pop in Honey Bunny. I haven’t tried anything else from the brand yet but I know now that I have too as I have fallen in love with this product! This is super glowly on the eyes and as you apply it, it has a cooling sensation on the lids. It's so creamy and pigmented that it makes it so easy to apply. I have never really been a massive fan of eyeshadow sticks until I tried this one!
The Soap & Glory One Heck of a Blot has quickly become my favourite powder (full review here). I have been using everywhere but under the eyes and it makes my makeup last so much longer! It leaves a lovely smooth and velvety finish on the skin and prevents my makeup from settling into any lines or pores. And even though it is a mattifying powder, it doesn't look like your wearing powder at all!
My final favourite this month is the Pixi Flawless and Poreless Primer. I have only been using this for about two weeks and I have quickly become obsessed with it! It creates a flawless base for my foundation while looking poreless all day long. I've noticed it makes my makeup last longer too, when I use this and the Soap & Glory powder together my makeup lasts all day long! It also adds a slight healthy glow to the skin, I'll have a full post up on this soon.
