I have always adored Charlotte Tilbury products but I had never tried any of the lipsticks before. I'm not usually a lipstick fan, to be honest, I have always found them to be quite uncomfortable but I saw this shade online and knew I had to have it in my collection. I've quickly become obsessed with this formula and already have my eye on my Tilbury lipsticks!
The Duchess is one of three brand new lipsticks from Charlotte Tilbury and it's in the K.I.S.S.I.N.G formula. This lipstick has been enriched with Lipstick Tree Extract (a secret ingredient), an anti-oxidant that naturally protects the lips from UV damage and external pollution to leave them cashmere soft and irresistible. It has been blended with special waxes and clever light-diffusing pigments for perfect, full-bodied and ultra-brilliant lips. The Duchess is one of the brand new limited edition shades, along with Legendary Queen which is in the Matte Revolution formulation. This lipstick can be worn alone or paired with a Lip Cheat or Lip Lustre for a bold, intense lip.
The Duchess is my perfect everyday lipstick shade and is something I had been really needing in my collection. Since I have gone cruelty-free, I have been finding it difficult to replace products and I am so glad that Charlotte Tilbury cruelty-free! This is described as being a charming tea-rose pink with a satin finish. Years ago, I had a couple of lip products that were a similar shade to this and I was obsessed with them but they got discontinued so as soon as I saw this I had to have it! The packaging is absolutely stunning in true Charlotte Tilbury style. The packaging feels very luxe and well made which I am happy about as this is probably the most I have ever spent on a lip product, at £24! Each of the Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks come in a ribbed, metal rose gold tube.
This is one of the most comfortable lip products I have ever used and has quickly converted me to lipsticks! The Duchess is an easy lip shade that goes with almost all of my makeup looks. I have never been one for super bold lips as I do have a thin and slightly wonky upper lip and I feel like bold colours tend to draw even more attention to that so this lip colour is perfect for me. It's a very flattering shade on me and I love that it has hydrating benefits on the lips as I tend to have quite dry lips at this time of year. It almost feels like a balm/gloss hybrid once applied! The satin finish is one of my favourite things about this product as it adds a hint sheen to the lips with a very smooth finish that doesn't settle into any of my lip lines. The lipsticks itself is very pigmented and I only need one swipe for full pigmentation but you can easily sheer it out with a brush if you prefer. For a lipstick without a matte finish, it is fairly long wearing and holds up well for many hours but after eating it does need to be reapplied.
If you haven't tried Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks before like I hadn't, this is the perfect place to start! I know I am going to get my moneys worth with this lip product as I have already been wearing it every day since it arrived! It's one of those shades which is like my lips, but better!
