I love trying out new primers and with Essence being one of my favourite brands, I knew I had to try this new one! This sounded like everything I have been looking for in a primer so I couldn't wait to put it to the test. And I have to say, I have been extremely impressed with this £3.50 primer!
The You Better Work! Primer from Essence has been created for those who love to work out or enjoy sporting activities. As someone who doesn't like exercise at all, the reason I wanted to give this a try as it sounded amazing for oily skin and it really is great stuff, it might be the best £3.50 you spend this month! During the week, I get up at 5 am so finding a primer that can actually make my makeup last until at least 8 pm is essential for me. I know when the summer comes I will be using this a tonne. If you are looking for a new all in one primer, you need to give this a try.
This primer is said to be the solution to long-lasting flawless makeup and I didn't expect to love this primer as much as I do as I am very fussy with my primers. From the first time that I used this, I was impressed! This primer is going to help protect the skin from sun damage with SPF 20, perfect for this time of year, and it is also going to make your makeup last all day long. It also claims to help reduce pores, conceal any skin irregularities and make unevenness disappear.
When you apply this primer, it does feel as if you are applying a lightweight SPF but without a white cast or any sticky residue being left behind on the skin, it has a slight blue tint to it which helps correct any discolouration and evens out my skin tone. It mattifies the skin without leaving it feeling dry at all throughout the day and it works fantastically for my pores! I always like to use pore filling primers and this does have a smoothing effect on the skin that I'm obsessed with. It really is a fantastic base for makeup!
What I adore about this primer is how it makes my makeup last throughout the day. I do have quite oily skin at the moment and with my acne being a pain at the moment, I like to use full coverage foundations and I want them to last all day and this primer ensures that they do! The first time I used this primer I was so impressed with the fact that my makeup had been on for about ten hours and it still looked fresh! It makes my makeup last so much longer and I don't need to touch up half as much as I would with any other primer.
If you want a primer that will create a smooth, even canvas for makeup, that has SPF and makes your makeup literally last all day, this is the one for you!
