Spring Beauty Update with Fragrance Direct

I love this time of year for beauty, you can bring back out the brighter lip colours, pastel nail polishes and the fake tan! Every season I like to have a beauty update, switching out the products in my makeup bag for the coming weeks and treating myself to new things. Fragrance Direct is always a one-stop shop for me and I love that they stock so many of my favourite brands, they are almost always much more affordable too!

When the sun finally comes out, I do like to use a little bit of fake tan as I am ghostly pale and I don't want the sun to reflect off my skin and blind people. The Bondi Sands Self Tanning Lotion (£8.99) is what I have been using for the last couple of weeks, especially on my legs and I have become quite the fan! I haven't used a lotion self-tan for a while and I think I might actually prefer it over mousse as it isn't drying at all on the skin. This one, in particular, is light to medium in colour so it adds a healthy colour to the skin and it has a lovely coconut scent!

Speaking of warming up the skin, bronzer is one of my favourite makeup products to use on a daily basis and it makes such a difference to the face. The Bourjois Delice de Poudre (£3.99) is a little bit different than what I usually use for bronzing as it has a slight shimmer running through it. I wasn't sure if I would be a fan of the shimmer but it actually has a gorgeous illuminating effect on the skin. This bronzer isn't too dark for my lighter complexion and it isn't at all warm so it doesn't make you look orange no matter how much you apply. Another makeup product I wanted to get for Spring was a new lip colour. I couldn't believe how affordable the Bobbi Brown Rich Lip Colour in Miami Pink was at just £10.95 (they have other shades available too at this price!). This is the sort of shade that I love to wear during the day at this time of year as it is a little bolder than what I would usually go for but it isn't too bright. It's very comfortable on the lips and has a non-drying formula. You can easily achieve full-colour pay off in just one swipe!

I am very fussy when it comes to fragrances but I do like to get a new one for each season, whether it be a full-size bottle, a roller ball or a fragrance mist. I have always wanted to try out the Marc Jacobs fragrances as I have heard nothing but good things about them, I have had a couple of samples in the past and had always been a fan of the scents. I decided to go for the new Daisy Twinkle (£46.95) and it is a gorgeous scent with a mixture of floral and fruity notes and it really is the perfect spring-time scent. It has fantastic lasting power too, I spritzed this onto a jacket and the next evening I could still smell it and while it is strong once applied, it isn't at all overpowering. I adore the packaging too, it's definitely a bottle that you have to have out on display.

With the sun finally making an appearance in England, it is extremely important to make sure that your skin is protected against sun damage. To ensure that I never forget to leave the house without SPF I decided to try out the Clinique Pep-Start Hyrdroush Moisturiser SPF20 and I have been really impressed with it. I love that it has an oil-free formula and it sinks into the skin quickly so I can go ahead and apply my makeup. It gives the skin a slight healthy glow too while protecting against UV rays. The final product I wanted to pick up for Spring was a new nail polish, Essie nail polishes are such a bargain at Fragrance Direct, they are only £2.75 each! I went for the shade Groom Service which is a gorgeous lilac shade. I always love Essie nail polishes as they last well on my nails and I never need more than two coats before I am good to go!

What are your spring beauty favourites?
