Milk Makeup Blur Stick Review

I have wanted to try Milk Makeup for the longest time so when they launched on Cult Beauty, I had to pick up a couple of things. And so far, I'm absolutely obsessed and can't get enough! I already have a cart full of products ready for my next order and this product is one a new must-have in my makeup bag.

I hate my pores, it's one of my main dislikes about my skin so when I was reading reviews on different Milk Makeup products, I knew I wanted to give the Blur Stick a try. I used to love Benefit's Porefessional but since they aren't cruelty-free, I had been on the hunt for a similar product and this is that, only better! Milk Makeup offers this product in two different versions, the standard Blur Stick which I have but they also have the Luminous Blur Stick as well.

This aims to help minimise the appearance of pores while helping makeup to glide on smoothly, combat shine and secure makeup in place throughout the day. This primer contains blurring microsphere technology that will reduce the visible size of pores, fine lines and blemishes. Milk Makeup claims this to be a real-life version of FaceTune! It's suitable for all skin tones and can be used alone or underneath makeup. It's 100% vegan, cruelty-free while being free from silicone, parabens and is non-comedogenic (meaning it won't clog your pores).

The first couple of times that I used this, I wasn't too sure if I was going to get on with it due to the packaging. As it is a slightly bigger twist-up stick, I didn't like applying it around the nose at first but the more I use it, the more I really like it. I now love that it's in a stick form because it's so quick and easy to apply while being travel-friendly. Now that I'm used to the size of it, I don't have any issues with applying it around my nose. The stick itself once it's warmed with your skin slightly glides onto the skin and I don't find that you need to apply a tonne of it to see a difference in your skin.

I love this stuff and the more I use it, the more I know that this will be a staple in my makeup bag going forward. I have combination skin and I love using whether I have makeup on or not as it keeps my oil areas at bay all day long and I never look shiny! It does a brilliant job at smoothing over my pores and making them look pretty much invisible, it really does look like I have a filter on my face! I love the way my foundation applies in these areas, it almost doesn't look real. It's so lightweight that it's undetectable and it does make a huge difference in how my makeup wears and applies throughout the day. I have a smile line around the right side of my mouth that I hate as makeup would always settle in it but this primer ensures that this doesn't happen and keeps my makeup looking smooth.

I love how smooth my face looks when I wear makeup when I've used this and I love the softness it leaves the skin feeling. The only issue I've had with using this is that I can only apply my foundations with a damp beautyblender rather than with a foundation brush but it's not that big of an issue that would stop me from repurchasing it. I have tried a few different pore minimising primers and this has to be one of the best ones I have ever used.

The Milk Makeup Blur Stick retails for £30.50 at Cult Beauty - HERE
