2019 seems to be the year that I can't stop reading. So far this year, I have read over 70 books and I'm not completely sure how I even managed that because that's an insane amount! I was inspired by Hailey in Bookland to start sharing books that I loved and read recently, check out her channel if you want someone new to watch! I love her reading vlogs.

Even though I was only a few years old when the Spice Girls were at their peak, my childhood was all about Steps and the Spice Girls. It wasn't until I read this book that I realised just how influential they were on me, without even noticing it they placed a big role in the way I am today. I have been wanting to read more books on girl power and feminism and this was a great place to start.

A Place in the Sun - R.S Grey

R.S Grey is my favourite author at the moment. I have read all but three of her books this year and if you love a rom-com, you'll love R.S Grey. This book is set in a small town in Italy and is the perfect book to escape the dull weather of England. I fell in love with Georgie, she's fearless and doesn't take no for an answer. I now want to visit Vernazza. I would honestly recommend all of her books, I can't get enough!

Field Notes on Love - Jennifer E. Smith

One of my favourite things to read in the Spring and Summer is YA contemporary romance. This book is honestly one of the cutest things I have read in ages. The book is set on a train throughout America and follows Hugo who has just been dumped by his girlfriend but he needs someone with the same name as the ex-girlfriend to be able to go on this trip. Which brings us to Mae, I loved her. Obviously, they end up falling in love but this book is so much more than that.

Birthday Girl - Penelope Douglas

If you couldn't tell, I love a bit of romance. This book had been on my TBR for months and for whatever reason, I kept putting off reading it and I am so annoyed that I took so long to read it because it's one of my favourites reads so far in 2019. This book follows Jordan who essentially ends up falling for her boyfriend's Dad. Jordan and her boyfriend end up having to move in with Pike, the boyfriend's Dad, and it goes from there. This book does sound ridiculous but I love a forbidden romance and she doesn't technically date them at the same time. This book is recommended for those over 18.

This is another favourite of 2019 and it was one of the cutest, slow burn romances I have read in a while. It had quite a few laugh out loud moments and I was shipping Josh and Hazel so hard. Josh has just broken up with his girlfriend so he and Hazel decide to set each other up on blind dates but they always end up going home together essentially. The first half of the book has almost no romance in but it's such a cute story. I read it cover to cover in one sitting and it's only 99p on Kindle at the moment!
