That Second Chance - Meghan Quinn | Book Review

I have been on a Meghan Quinn reading binge, I can't seem to get enough of her books lately! I have read five or six of her books in the last month or so but this book was on another level. I rate most of Meghan's books four stars but this book was a five star read and if I could have given it more stars on Good Reads, I would have!
That Second Chance - Meghan Quinn
Blurb

But it only took one rowdy night with my brothers to flip my world upside down. One unlucky encounter saddled us with a family curse and the promise of doomed relationships. I laughed it off immediately. “Yeah, right,” I thought. “A love curse. Ha!”
Boy, was I wrong.
Word spreads quickly in a town like mine; rumours about that night soon made us the most eligible yet untouchable bachelors in Port Snow, Maine. As a subject of endless gossip and speculation, I could kiss my dating life goodbye.
It would have stayed that way if Ren Winters, the new girl in town, hadn’t crashed into my life. Brave, beautiful, and smart—her vivacious thirst for a fresh start has given me hope that maybe, just maybe, I can have one too.
Everyone wishes for that second chance . . . but could this really be mine?

My Review

I honestly can't say enough good things about this book, I was not expecting to love it as much as I do. When I first started reading this, from the prologue I wasn't sure if I was going to be a fan but I am so happy I stuck with it because it's one of my favourite reads of 2019 and I know I'll be rereading it soon. Both of the main characters are extremely likeable, they are both super sweet and I couldn't get enough of their story. Griffin is swoon-worthy! He is my new favourite book boyfriend and I love how strong Ren is.

While this is a rom-com, I adored the whole of the Knightly family (they made the book for me), they are hilarious. The town felt so real to me as well, I wish I could live there. The brothers are hilarious, as well as Jen, I loved how they kept meddling in Griffin and Ren's relationship. This book had the perfect amount of funny moments, depth and steam. I always try to keep my book reviews spoiler-free and I need you all to read it so we can discuss the walk home from the party scene. I swooned SO HARD. I honestly melted, it was the cutest thing ever, why can't these moments happen to me? I loved the chapters when they went camping so much, I think they were some of my favourite moments.

I really didn't want this book to end, I will usually jump straight into another book once I finish one but I took a few days to sit with this one because it was perfection and I couldn't stop thinking about the town and the characters. I loved the ending of this book and I liked that it gave us a tiny glimpse of the next book.

I want to move to this small town and get myself a Knightly brother! I'm not usually one for companion book series' but I am so excited for the next book to come out towards the end of August!
