- Post contains a book provided via Netgalley -

This book was one of my most anticipated books of 2019 and I was so excited to get approved for an advanced copy! Romance is one of my favourite genres to read and this one did not disappoint and I cannot wait to read more from this author.

''The first rule of this book club:
You don't talk about book club.

Nashville Legends second baseman Gavin Scott's marriage is in major league trouble. He’s recently discovered a humiliating secret: his wife Thea has always faked the Big O. When he loses his cool at the revelation, it’s the final straw on their already strained relationship. Thea asks for a divorce, and Gavin realizes he’s let his pride and fear get the better of him.

Welcome to the Bromance Book Club.

Distraught and desperate, Gavin finds help from an unlikely source: a secret romance book club made up of Nashville's top alpha men. With the help of their current read, a steamy Regency titled Courting the Countess, the guys coach Gavin on saving his marriage. But it'll take a lot more than flowery words and grand gestures for this hapless Romeo to find his inner hero and win back the trust of his wife.''

My Review

My reading has been a little slow this month but I was hooked into this book from the first few pages and I couldn't put it down until I finished it! This was a different kind of romance read than what I usually read as it follows a couple staying together rather than getting together and it also has a mini-story within the actual story. I really liked both of these elements and it made it unique and kept it interesting.

This is technically a sports romance but it didn't take centre stage which I was really happy about personally as I know nothing about sports but I love a good sports romance. This was a fun, emotional and a new take on a second chance romance. I typically hate most of the second chance romances I read but I really enjoyed this and will continue the series. I really felt for both Gavin and Thea throughout the book as they worked and struggled to figure out their issues.

I loved the idea behind these baseball places having a book club where they read romance books and there were some funny moments, like Gavin discovering the world of a certain social media platform. This was my first book from the author and I cannot wait to read more, I love Lyssa's writing style! Can we get men reading romance more often like this group, please? I loved them.

The Bromance Book Club is out on the 5th of November 2019 on ebook - HERE.
