Umberto Giannini Vegan & Cruelty Free Hair Dye

I love experimenting with my hair, think Jenna Marbles style. While we have been in lockdown, I have cut it twice and I have now dyed it twice. I had been wanting to try these hair dyes for a while now so when I saw them on the Latest in Beauty shortlist last month, I knew I had to try them out finally!

The Umberto Giannini Flowerology Colours are vegan and cruelty-free, 95% natural and 75% original. These hair dyes provide permanent colour, 100% grey coverage with no ammonia. I have been using box dyes on my hair since my teens these are the first vegan and cruelty-free ones I have actually found that I like! There are quite a few colours available, I have Extra Light Blonde 10.1 as well as Medium Brown 5.0 but the Extra Light Blonde is the one I have used so far.

I have to say, these are the best smelling hair dyes I have ever used, the smell is usually offensive to my nose and overbearing but these actually smell good! The formula itself is a good consistency, it's on the slightly thicker side once you mix the two products together and it's easy to coat your hair and blend it through. I had been dyeing my hair extremely dark brown for years and two years ago I stopped so you can imagine the state of the colour. These hair dyes have been enriched with Vitamin C and E, as well as chamomile flower and orange peel, extract to nourish, strengthen and add long-lasting shine.

I wanted to use the Extra Light Blonde to try and lift some of the darkness from the mids to ends of my hair and it did a fantastic job. My hair naturally is light brown and now the ends of my hair almost match my roots for the first time in years! It provided even coverage throughout my hair. The hair dye was very gentle on the hair even though I left it on for about an hour, My hair felt incredible after use and it was super soft!

The Umberto Giannini hair dyes retail for £10 and are available HERE
