Christmas 2020 Movie Recommendations #1

To quote a recent tweet of mine, a Christmas movie a day keeps my crazy away. I have been in self-isolation since Halloween and I am starting to go a little insane without even being able to go for a walk. So I have been watching a lot of Christmas movies and today I will be sharing my thoughts on them. Christmas 2020 Movie Recommendations #1Holidate (Netflix Original) starring Emma Roberts

"Fed up with being single on holidays, two strangers agree to be each other's platonic plus-ones all year long, only to catch real feelings along the way."

This isn't technically a Christmas movie but it does start at Christmas so I thought I would include it. I really liked this one and Emma Roberts is one of my favourite actresses. This movie follows our main characters being each others fake for every holiday of the year with no feelings, strictly friendship and you can guess what happens. This was a whole lot of fun with all the rom-com vibes. It had some truly laugh out loud moments and I would definitely rewatch this.

One Royal Holiday (Hallmark Channel Original)

"When Anna offers a stranded mother and son shelter from a blizzard, she learns that they are the royal family of Galwick and that they are both in need of a little Christmas magic."

Shelby recommended this one to me and we were both obsessed! I'm going to link her blog post talking about some Christmas movies for you to check out here. This has set the bar high for Hallmark holiday movies this year and this was one of the best ones I have seen a few years. The two main characters had fantastic chemistry and it had snow so it was a winner for me!

Christmas Chateau (Hallmark Channel Original)

"A world-renowned pianist rediscovers her passion for music after reuniting with her ex during the holidays."

I'm going to be honest, this wasn't a favourite and it was a little boring but I watched it because I really like the two stars of the movie. I really didn't understand why this movie was called what it was but I would recommend watching it if you like good looking men wearing cable knit sweaters because...swoon.

Operation Christmas Drop (Netflix Original) Starring Kat Graham

"Operation Christmas Drop is a 2020 American Christmas romantic comedy film directed by Martin Wood from a screenplay by Gregg Rossen and Brian Sawyer. The film stars Kat Graham and Alexander Ludwig and is loosely based on the real-life U.S. Air Force Operation Christmas Drop humanitarian mission."

I really enjoyed this one! Kat Graham is one of my favourite actresses and she was great in this movie and the main guy is really cute which is always a bonus. If you saw Holiday in the Wild, this movie has a similar vibe to it which will make sense once you've seen the movie. This isn't the most Christmassy movie but it has a side of Christmas! I laughed out loud a few times and got a little emotional at the end.

What Christmas movies have you been watching?
