The Ex Hex has been on my Goodreads shelves for months now and I am excited to be on the blog tour today. This book is getting a lot of love since it released at the end of September and it is the perfect book to download this weekend! The Ex Hex - Erin Sterling | Spoiler Free Book ReviewBook Blurb

"Nine years ago, Vivienne Jones nursed her broken heart like any young witch would: vodka, weepy music, bubble baths…and a curse on the horrible boyfriend. Sure, Vivi knows she shouldn’t use her magic this way, but with only an “orchard hayride” scented candle on hand, she isn’t worried it will cause him anything more than a bad hair day or two.

That is until Rhys Penhallow, descendent of the town’s ancestors, breaker of hearts, and annoyingly just as gorgeous as he always was, returns to Graves Glen, Georgia. What should be a quick trip to recharge the town’s ley lines and make an appearance at the annual fall festival turns disastrously wrong. With one calamity after another striking Rhys, Vivi realizes her silly little Ex Hex may not have been so harmless after all.

Suddenly, Graves Glen is under attack from murderous wind-up toys, a pissed off ghost, and a talking cat with some interesting things to say. Vivi and Rhys have to ignore their off the charts chemistry to work together to save the town and find a way to break the break-up curse before it’s too late."

My Review

I don't tend to read a lot of fantasy or paranormal romance books and I think the only series I might have actually read would be Twilight. Everything I typically read is contemporary so this was really fun for me to read as it was almost like a whole new genre! And The Ex Hex to me was the perfect introduction as it wasn't super heavy on the witchy vibes.

This is a fun, lighthearted read with minimal drama which is often what I gravitate towards. I am so glad I read this book this week as it was the perfect Halloween-y read so I can't recommenced picking this up tomorrow enough. This is a cosy small-town romance with a tonne of swoon worthy and laugh out loud moments and fantastic second chance romance.

Erin Sterling is Rachel Hawkin's pen name and I have actually read two other books from the author, Royals and Her Royal Highness which I also enjoyed!
