I have been a fan of Huda Beauty makeup products for a couple of years now and ever since the skincare sister brand, Wishful, launched I have been wanting to try out a couple of products. For my birthday I received a gift set with a few of the makeup products in as well as this full-size cleanser and I was excited to finally put it to the test! The Wishful Clean Genie Cleansing Butter retails for £31 and claims to be a soft but strong cleansing balm that acts as the first step in your double cleanse routine. I am the a firm lover of the double cleanse, every time I wear makeup or SPF I will do a double cleanse and it has changed my skin for the better. This balm is infused with green tea and malachite to help pull makeup and impurities out of your skin while keeping it conditioned. It will also help to leave your skin face with no greasy or dry after-feel.
I have been trying this out over the last month and a half and while this has been designed as a makeup remover, I am not the biggest fan of using it that way. I found that it couldn't remove my eye makeup with ease and it irritated my eyes, I do wear quite a lot of mascara in the cleansers defence. It does a great job with base makeup so it does work if I use a separate product for my eye makeup removal. That being said, I adore this cleanser for when my skin is on the drier side as a second step cleanser or to use in the evenings on no makeup days. It's so luxurious feeling and I love the way it leaves the skin feeling after use as it is always softer and smoother. It also smells lovely which is always a bonus!
Wishful is a cruelty-free brand.
