I have been a fan of Huda Beauty makeup products for a couple of years now and ever since the skincare sister brand, Wishful, launched I have been wanting to try out a couple of products. For my birthday I received a gift set with a few of the makeup products in as well as this full-size cleanser and I was excited to finally put it to the test!Wishful Clean Genie Cleansing Butter ReviewWishful Clean Genie Cleansing Butter ReviewThe Wishful Clean Genie Cleansing Butter retails for £31 and claims to be a soft but strong cleansing balm that acts as the first step in your double cleanse routine. I am the a firm lover of the double cleanse, every time I wear makeup or SPF I will do a double cleanse and it has changed my skin for the better. This balm is infused with green tea and malachite to help pull makeup and impurities out of your skin while keeping it conditioned. It will also help to leave your skin face with no greasy or dry after-feel.

The green tea extract is known to help maintain moisture in the skin while soothing and clarifying the skin to leave you with a radiant complexion. The cleansing butter also contains Cherry Blossom Extract that is known to condition the skin and leave it soft and supple while Malachite Stone has anti-oxidant properties and will help keep the skin free from environmental aggressors that lead to clogged pores and a dull complexion.

You apply around a dime-size amount (or whatever amount works best for you), the amount I will use will differ depending on how much makeup I am wearing. You massage this into dry skin to gentle dissolve makeup, dirt and excess oils before rinsing with warm water or a wet cloth, I always go with a cloth as it makes removing any makeup residue a step easier and quicker.

I have been trying this out over the last month and a half and while this has been designed as a makeup remover, I am not the biggest fan of using it that way. I found that it couldn't remove my eye makeup with ease and it irritated my eyes, I do wear quite a lot of mascara in the cleansers defence. It does a great job with base makeup so it does work if I use a separate product for my eye makeup removal. That being said, I adore this cleanser for when my skin is on the drier side as a second step cleanser or to use in the evenings on no makeup days. It's so luxurious feeling and I love the way it leaves the skin feeling after use as it is always softer and smoother. It also smells lovely which is always a bonus!

Wishful is a cruelty-free brand.
