Bright Bold Nail Polishes for Summer

I wrote a nail polish post about a few of my favourite products for Spring/Summer but I thought it was time to do an update! I have been obsessed with bright, bold nails and this selection has been my go-to selection shades. Recently, I have only been wearing nude nail polishes but all of a sudden I have been in love with bright nails - I am blaming it on the sunshine!

Swatched (from left bottom): OPI Is Mai Tai Crooked?, iZ Beauty 111, Jessica Magenta, Nails Inc Kensington Passage, Lancome Cafe Blanc, iZ Beauty 960, iZ Beauty 963, Essie Spin the Bottle, Barry M Holographic Lights, Jessica Blue & Essie Garden Variety.

Almost all of my favourite nail polishes at the moment are creme formulas, I do prefer these as I find them to last longer on my nails than metallic formulas. To make my nail polish last even longer I use the Rimmel Super Gel Top Coat, I have been doing nothing but raving about this stuff and I highly recommend it if you are looking for a new top coat. Most of these polishes are on the pricier side but if you are on a budget, Essence makes some incredible nail polishes for around £1. My favourite shades are:

- OPI Is Mai Tai Crooked?: Light Orange Creme
- Nails Inc Kensington Passage: Coral
- iZ Beauty 111 Red Grapefruit: Mid-tone read with a hint of orange
- Jessica Magenta: Fuchsia Creme
- iZ Beauty 960 Banana Colada: Vibrant, bright yellow
- Essie Spin the Bottle: A creamy beige with a hint of peach
- Lancome Cafe Blanc: Bright White
- Barry M Molten Metal 709 Holographic Lights: Silver polish that reflects holographic in the sunlight
- iZ Beauty 963 Lime Isle Sour: A slightly neon lime green
- Jessica Blue: A bright cobalt blue
- Essie Garden Variety: A teal blue

I love orange, red and coral nails in the Summer and if I never know which shade to go for, it's always one of these three! I only ever wear red or coral on my toes too, I find it helps warm up the skin slightly and when you are as pale as me, you need all the help you can get! Nails Inc Kensington Passage has been on of my go-to shades for years now and I am surprised I actually have any left in the bottle as I have used it that much! This is a gorgeous coral shade and the formula of these polishes is brilliant too as they are incredibly glossy. One of the newer coral shades I have been loving is from iZ Beauty and is the shade Red Grapefruit. I have been really liking the iZ Beauty polishes lately and this shade is very similar to the Nails Inc one so of course, I am obsessed with it! I am not usually a fan of full on orange nail polishes but OPI's Is Mai Tai Crooked? is such a gorgeous shade. I love to wear this with a golden glitter top coat. OPI nail polishes have some of the best formulas and are always worth the splurge.

For days when I want extra bright nails, I go for iZ Beauty Lime Isle Sour. This polish is unlike anything I have in my collection but I am loving how fun is colour is. I have been even wearing it with iZ Beauty Banana Colada as an accent nail to give some pineapple vibes! Another super bright and bold nail polish I have been wearing recently is Jessica Nail Polishes Blue from the Prime Collection. This is one of the nicest blue nail polishes I have in my collection and is the perfect cobalt shade. Another polish I really like from the same collection is the shade Magenta. This is a gorgeous pink raspberry creme and again, I always find myself wearing these types of shades during the summer. I have never been much of a fan of baby pink nails unless it's Essie Fiji but this shade is right up my street.

One of my favourite nail looks is bright white nails but finding a good formula white nail polish is like finding a needle in a haystack. But Lancome's Cafe Blanc is outstanding, it isn't at all streaky and only needs two coats. This is such the perfect bright white nail polish that looks gorgeous with a tan! A few months ago I got Essie's Garden Variety and if you love teal nail polishes, I have a feeling you are going to fall in this with this shade! My final favourite for Summer is one of the newer launches on the high street from Barry M and it is the Molten Metals nail polish in Holographic Lights. Finding holographic nail polishes on the high street is extremely difficult but this shade is stunning! I love it reflects every colour of the rainbow in the sunlight and I can see myself wearing this even more in the months to come.
