I mentioned at the beginning of the year that I wanted to try more Kat Von D products and I have been doing just that! The brand is quickly becoming one of my favourites and I just adore the fact that they don't test on animals while still having incredible quality products. I had the Lolita liquid lipstick and I loved the shade so as soon saw this, I knew I needed to have it!
This is the limited edition Lolita Eyeshadow/Blush that is 100% cruelty-free and vegan. This shade is unlike anything I had previously in my collection which is mainly what justified my purchase of it. It comes packaged the same as the single eyeshadows from Kat Von D Beauty as well as being the same size as those and the same price. I love the fact that this is the same size and price as the eyeshadows as I hardly ever go through a full blush so there is no need for me to need this in a bigger size.
Even though this is technically eyeshadow, I love how it looks on the cheeks and have been using it a lot both ways! It has been formulated to be able to be used on the cheeks too as it has a triple-milled, ultra blendable formula that does double duty. You can use this has a high-pigment eyeshadow or you can use it as a blush for a lighter pigmented, smooth seamless cheek colour. The formulation of this is fantastic as the powder really is super soft and blendable but you get very minimal kick back in the pan and hardly any fall out during application. I was surprised at just how different it applies on the eyes and the cheeks, I was worried that it would be too pigmented and bold for my cheeks as I am quite pale but I love how it looks. It has a slight warming effect too which I love. On the cheeks, you can definitely build up the pigmentation if you want to have a bolder, stronger look but I like to use a light hand and a fluffy brush for ever day wear.
This is a matte chestnut rose shade that has been created to contain a perfect balance of tones for a rosy neutral shade that will look beautiful and different on every complexion. I have quite fair skin and even though this is pretty bold shade, it does work well on my skin tone! I have been loving it in the crease with a couple of lighter shades on the lid for everyday wear. I have been looking matte eyeshadow look lately so I will use this in the crease blended out with just a little brow bone highlight and a neutral shade on the lid and I'm good to go! If you love the Lolita lip products from the brand, I think you will really love this! I can't wait to experiment with it a bit more on the eyes and create some different looks with it as I have been keeping it quite simple lately. I have been loving how well this wears on a final note, for a matte powder it is very soft and smooth on the eyes and cheeks! It lasts all day long without fading.
