It's been a while since I have tried anything from Barry M but I am a sucker for some neon nail polish. I love bright nails during the summer and I love to mix and match shades so I was excited to try out two new polishes from the brand.
The Hi Vis collection from Barry M consists of a few products other than nail polishes, there are eyeliners and a palette amongst other products. The Hi Vis Neon Nail Polishes are available in six shades and retail for £3.99 and have a vegan formula. Finding good neon nail polishes can be a struggle but I have been trying these out for the last couple of weeks and I have some thoughts.
The two shades I picked up were Coral Blaze and Blue Shock, I really like the look of the purple and darker blue shade which I may pick up soon. For these being neon polishes and loving Barry M so much, I was expecting them to be better than they are. You need to apply a white base with these which would be fine if I then only needed two coats of polish. But I still needed at least three for them to be bright. I have a neon polish from Nails Inc that you can probably see from space and doesn't need a white base and only two coats.
The formulation of these is more of a jelly polish if I'm honest. You can see your actual natural through them when you don't use a white base even if you apply three or four coats. They are decently long-wearing but if you are looking for a true neon polish, I would recommend investing in a Nails Inc polish who are also cruelty-free and have vegan polishes as well.
