"Pine Hollow has everything Ally Gilmore could wish for in a holiday break: gently falling snow in a charming small town and time with her family. Then she learns some Grinch has pulled the funding for her family's rescue shelter, and now she has only four weeks to find new homes for a dozen dogs! But when she confronts her Scroogey councilman nemesis, Ally finds he's far more reasonable - and handsome - than she ever expected.

As the guardian of his dog-obsessed ten-year-old niece, Ben West doesn't have time to build a cuddly reputation. But he does feel guilty about the shelter closing. So he proposes a truce with Ally, agreeing to help her adopt out the pups. As the two spend more time together, the town's gossip is spreading faster than Santa's sleigh on Christmas Eve. And soon Ben is hoping he can convince Ally that Pine Hollow is her home for the holidays...and the whole year through. "

My Review

I really enjoyed this book and I'm so glad it's a series as I will definitely be continuing on. The Twelve Dogs of Christmas was my first book from Lizzie and it won't be my last. This Christmas romance was a whole lot of fun and adorableness. I really liked our main characters, Ben and Ally, and all of the dogs, I love when animals are included in romances as they had a fun element to the book. I would quite like my own Partridge, please.

I really liked how Ben and Ally's relationship grew throughout the book, they start off on the wrong foot then becoming friends before something more. It's definitely more of a slow burn which was brilliantly done. One of my favourite characters in the book was Astrid, I am obsessed with that name, and I liked her relationship with Ally from the small glimpses we got to see. Ben is my favourite kind of character, a little grumpy but has a soft spot for the love interest and his niece, Astrid, he is her guardian as her parents have passed.

This book made me feel incredibly festive and all fuzzy! I have been reading quite a few Christmas romances lately and this one is my favourite so far! It would make a great Hallmark or Netflix Christmas movie. I don't love miscommunication in my romances and there was a tiny bit of it that I didn't love otherwise I would have given this a full five stars! While this is a romance, other storylines are happening too with side characters and I loved that about it and I can't wait for the next book which is out next Spring.
