Recent Reads #35: Favourite New Releases

The reading never stops for me. Today I have a couple of my favourite recent reads and all of them have been released within the last month. All but one of them is available in Kindle Unlimited which is by far my favourite subscription service, there is no way I could afford to read the amount of books I do without it. And it goes without saying all of these books are romances.Recent Reads #35: Favourite New ReleasesTerms and Conditions by Lauren Asher

"Declan
I'm destined to become the next CEO of my family's media empire.
The only problem? My grandfather's inheritance clause.
Fulfilling his dying wish of getting married and having an heir seemed impossible until my assistant volunteered for the job.
Our marriage was supposed to be the perfect solution to my biggest problem.
But the more we act in love for the public, the more unsure I feel about our contract.
Caring about Iris was never part of the deal.
Especially not when breaking her heart is inevitable.

Iris
My plan to marry Declan was simple in theory.
Move in together. Throw a wedding. Have a baby.
We set rules to prevent any kind of issues.
Ones that were never meant to be broken, no matter how much Declan tempts me.
But what happens when our fake relationship bleeds into our real one?
Falling in love was never an option.
At least not for me."

This is the second book in the Dreamland Billionaires trilogy and I LOVED it. I haven't given one of Lauren's book lower than a four star rating and almost every book is a five star read for me. This is by far one of my favourite reads of the year. Declan and Iris are next level. You don't have to read The Fine Print first but I highly recommend it.

The Bully by Willa Nash

"Nellie Rivera is trading traffic for tranquility. When the quiet streets of small-town Montana beckon, she leaves Denver behind and moves to Calamity. It would be the perfect adventure if not for Cal Stark.

When her archnemesis dares to show his face one Saturday morning, declaring he is moving there too, she vows to make his life a misery. The town isn’t big enough for the both of them and besides . . .

She was here first.

Cal has been a thorn in her side since high school. He might have bullied her back then, but she’s not a modest teenager anymore and has learned a few plays of her own. If all goes to plan, she’ll run the former pro quarterback out of town within a month.

There’s only one problem. Cal has the same plan. He wants Calamity bad enough to pull out all the stops. And after one kiss, she realizes that he doesn’t play fair."

My love affair with Devney Perry/Willa Nash doesn't seem to be stopping any time soon! I came home from work and devoured this book in one sitting. I didn't realise just how quickly I read it as I didn't even move from the spot I was sitting in until I finished it. This is one of the best enemies to lovers books I have read in a while as their relationship progresses while they still hate each other.

Ferrara by T.L Swan

"There were three things that I wanted in life.

To dance like nobody was watching.
Travel the world.
And fall hopelessly in love.

Heartbreak was never on my list…. but somehow, I got it anyway.

We met at my older brother’s house and instantly I knew that he was trouble.
He kissed me, right there in the bathroom without a care in the world.
And from that moment on, I was his.

We were young, brave and naïve when we met.
Sneaking around and falling in love.
Giuliano Ferrara was perfection.
A beautiful, crazy mistake.
With his big brown eyes and his boyish charm.

But then the world fell apart and things didn’t go as planned.
I never quite forgot him, no matter how hard I tried.

Years later, we saw each other again.
And by the look in his eye, I instantly knew.
The sweet romantic boy I once loved is long gone.
In his place, a dominant, powerful man.
Who gets what he wants, when he wants it.

We can never be together.
It breaks my heart that he refuses to accept it.

I’m the object of his affection.
And what Giuliano Ferrara wants.
Giuliano Ferrara takes."

Now this book is not one I would recommend (and the author in general) if you are new to romance books. I adore Tee's books and eat them up but they do get mixed reviews and I do understand why. I will say it now, this is a forbidden romance but luckily for me and my sanity it all worked out in the end! This is a standalone mafia romance but I would recommend reading The Italian first if you do want to check it out. And if you are new to Tee's books, I adore the Miles High Club series and would start there.

Sweet by Adriana Locke

"Chemistry is not love.

That’s what my boss, the grumpy single dad with brilliant green eyes, says anyway.

I have my V-card. He’s ten years older than me. I work for him.

Nate Hughes has a million reasons why a relationship between us would never work. Honestly? It’s all a farce.

He can’t deny our connection. His soft smiles, brief touches, and protective behaviors come too easily. And when I need a place to stay? He can’t stop himself from offering me a room—though I’d prefer his bed. After all, there are sparks—delicious, sizzling sparks—when we’re together.

Our forced proximity brings things to a head. Our shared experiences and traumas draw us closer. Our undeniable attraction has us toeing the line between friends and lovers—whether Nate likes it or not.

He’s right—chemistry is not love. But that doesn’t mean that I won’t fall in love with him … even if he can’t love me back."

This book featured all of my favourite romance tropes and I simply loved it. This is the sixth book in the series, I just read the first three and then skipped to this one! They are all standalones but the couples do appear in the other books as well. Adriana is one of my favourite Kindle Unlimited romance authors, she is a staple on my Kindle!
